Corn Congress Goes Virtual Today
USAgNet - 07/15/2020
Corn Congress brings together delegates from state corn associations spanning the country to debate and adopt new federal policy positions that guide advocacy efforts. Typically held in-person in Washington, D.C., the event will be held virtually Wednesday
with delegates participating via video chat.
More than 200 delegates and alternates will convene Wednesday to discuss the policy priorities and positions that make up the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) policy book.
Also at Corn Congress, delegates will elect the next member of the NCGA Corn Board. MCGA Chairman Brian Thalmann joins six other candidates in running for an open spot on the Corn Board. Thalmann would join Harold Wolle and Tom Haag as MCGA
directors who also serve on the Corn Board.
Delegates typically make the most of the trip to Washington for Corn Congress by also meeting with members of Minnesota's congressional delegation to discuss the issues impacting corn farmers. Those meetings will also be held virtually, taking place later this month.
