U.S.-China Summit to Promote Collaborations, Investments

The U.S.-China Governors Collaboration Summit will be held in Lexington, Ky., this week. The event, which alternates every two years between the two nations, will bring together more than 350 members of state, provincial and local governments, business, investors, associations and non-profits to build relationships at a sub-national level and lay groundwork for mutual economic development.

The summit directly follows One: The Alltech Ideas Conference and is a partnership between the National Governors Association, the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Alltech and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.

Expected attendees from the United States includes Gov. Matt Bevin, Kentucky; Gov. Bill Lee, Tennessee; Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton, Kentucky; Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera, Colorado; Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist, Michigan; Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib, Washington state; and Dr. Mark Lyons, president and CEO, Alltech. People's Republic of China representatives are expected to be Hon. Cui Tiankai, China's ambassador to the U.S.; Gov. Guozhong Liu, Shaanxi Provincial Government; Vice Gov. Zhongqiong Wu, Jiangxi Provincial People's Government; Vice Gov. Shizhen Zhang, People's Government of Gansu Province; and Mayor Liangzhi Tang, Chongqing Municipal People's Government.

The Summit runs Thursday through Friday.
